Just a quick post containing our homework for this week's digital illustration class. :) Three different gag sketchup possibilities, and a picture of my eye.

Other art!
Hey! I just had a really busy week, so I wasn't able to get anything up, but now that it's over, here! Have some sketches:
I'm a pony! Also, a few Harry Potter fanarts (Neville chopping up Nagini and Regulus Black stealing the locket). Everything else is original. :)
Also, here is how Sir Hookington turned out in the final:
I'm turning my perspective things in on Thursday, so hopefully I should be able to upload my designs for that after the week is out! :)

Self Portrait- finished!
Here it is, the finished product. An entire day early. Impressed with my own timeliness? You BET I am!
Also, here are some eyes-- gradient mesh, pattern, and a technical illustration:

Color palettes!
I know I was only supposed to do 3, but I figured a fourth couldn't hurt, since I have four silhouette composition ideas. :)

Work from the week!
Here's some various work from throughout this week. First, a character design for my cartooning and caricature class. We were all given an individual inanimate object and asked to flesh out a character for one. I was given a clothes hook.
A clothes hook was a little challenging, since it's basically a flat object. But once I did some visual research, it got fun. I found the eye-studies to be really necessary and helpful, since nearly his mouth is covered and body language is a bit limited with a flat object.
The PMC had life drawing on Wednesday night (and those of you who are my classmates that are reading this-- you should totally go! Every Wednesday, 7-10, VA160), so I have a few of my best from the night to show.
Dang has it been a while!
We're starting to work things up in perspective now, so I might have some things from that class to show next week. :)

Illustrator classwork!
First of all, a silhouette of sorts of Little Red Riding hood, done entirely in triangles... which was totally challenging, seeing as triangles are menacing and Little Red isn't... or at least not typically. :P
And then an abstract self portrait thing that I am not very fond of, but whatever, still learniiiing.

Silhouette!
Yay, silhouette! It's amazing what noodling around in Illustrator can do. I found one simple trick that nobody told me about the bezier curves and anchor points, and it made my life about 1 million times better.
I plan to post my sketched eye at the same time as the other 3 assigned eyes for this week. That's for tomorrow!

BOATS!
Hey there! We're learning illustrator in class, so I'm gonna go ahead and upload this in-class exercise. Yay boats! They match my blog theme. :D
Bezier curve, you are going to be the death of me. I like to think that rather than waves, my boats are sailing on an ocean of blue Peeps marshmallows. Yes.

Self Portrait icons!
In class we're doing a really nifty self portrait kind of project, and for it we had to design 25 different icons representing personality words, favorite things, and just in general things that represent ours.
So here are mine!
And here is me.
Goodnight morning!

Good
Yay sketches!
Just felt like sharing a couple of my more successful sketches from my playtime sketchbook this week. :)
Ginny Weasley being super awesome!
The Marauders (James Potter, Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew) as little kids. Guuuurl, best not be touchin' Lupin's chocolate.
These were both requests. If anyone has anything they'd like to see, ask! Who knows-- I may give it a shot!

Older Pieces!
Here's a few of my past pieces that I'm proud of. Some of it's school work, some isn't!
"Is it Greener on that Side?" Prismacolor on cold press, 11"x14" (2006)
"Texas," Graphite, ... the dimensions escape me because the piece is actually in Texas right now, at home! (2011)
"Just Relax," Graphite, 10"x10" (2011)
"3 Generations," Prismacolor on hot press, 7"x7" (I think. Again, in Texas. My mommy wanted it c:) (2011)
Calla Lilly tattoo design, Prismacolor. Done for a family friend to commemorate the loss of a dear friend. It's proudly tattoo'd on her ankle now! (2011)
"Why Daddy?" Photoshop. Harry Potter fan art done for a contest. The prompts were "After the end/a new beginning" and "Green." SPOILERS!!! I will forever be of the opinion that Fred Weasley's death was completely unfair, so to commemorate him, I decided to show how hard George's life is, even many years later after having kids and whatnot.
